The Internet Marketing world is huge. It's not like it was back in the late 90's when I got started. In a LOT of ways that is good, but in some ways it is bad. See, back then, we didn't have "Gurus" to help "show us the way" with $17, $27, $37, $97 purchases week after week. Thank God, right? In today's world, the average newcomer to this industry is taxed with offer after offer until they suffer from information overload, are chasing so many different ways of making money they can't bring any to fruition, or they go broke before they even get started.
In the late 90's, there was none of that. It was "figure it out or go back to your J-O-B..."
You had to come up with an idea, you had to figure out how to market it, you had to figure out the tech ins and outs, or you had to hire someone to do it for you. And that was before any Tom, Dick, or Harry could get a basic reseller hosting account for $30, register a domain for $10, hire a guy $5 on Fiverr to throw together a logo, and get another guy to put together a reasonable Wordpress installation for $20. Back then it would cost you $500 minimum to put up a new website, for anything, if you didn't know how to code your own HTML at least or have access to a good WYSIWYG editor like Dreamweaver or Pagemaker, which came at significant price-points. Now, you can literally throw together a reasonable website with 2 or 3 providers through outsourcing websites, a domain registration, and a reasonable logo for about $50.
So why can't you make money?
The simplest answer - because no one is showing you the way they do it. They are trying to create products to sell to you. I do not have a real statistic here, but I would venture to say that the average Internet Marketer spends around $2k before they give up or start figuring out the way things REALLY work!

Internet Marketers, as a general rule, sell products to other Internet Marketers. It is a vicious cycle.
